Healthy Horse Conference – ONLINE – Saturday, 31st October 2020

Saturday, 31st October  2020   9am – 4pm

** Now running as an online Conference ** Why? Well we have no idea if social distancing will be in place in the Autumn, and I would hate for those with underlying health conditions or those ‘shielding’ family members to miss out. On the plus side you will save time and money on travelling, and won’t need anyone else to sort out the horses. I’m sure you can imagine that this wasn’t a decision taken lightly, but after the success of our Spring Zoom training sessions I am confident that we can deliver the same great learning experience to your door.

Join us for a day of inspirational speakers,

  • Dr Sue Dyson
  • Dr Russell Guire
  • FEI Eventing vet Kate Granshaw
  • Dr Andrew Hemmings

we will be looking at :

  • Managing the ridden horse, the importance of warming up and cooling down (Kate Granshaw)
  • Equine stress and crib biting (Andrew Hemmings)
  • Understanding canter and what can go wrong  – what is normal – what can change and why – difficulties establishing canter; becoming disunited; spontaneously breaking to trot; close temporal and spatial separation of hindlimbs; wide  spatial separation of the hindlimbs and throwing forehand up; on three tracks;  bucking; bucking and kicking out; difficulties with flying changes – how do we investigate further? (Dr Sue Dyson)
  • Analysing warm up (facial expressions and ridden behaviour) of 5* event horses and how this relates to their performance XC (Dr Sue Dyson)
  • Can direction of rug slip be an indication of movement asymmetry? (Dr Russell MacKechnie-Guire)
  • Effect that saddle and bridle fit and design can have on equine health and performance (Dr Russell MacKechnie-Guire)
  • We will also be hosting a bonus training session at lunchtime- answering lots of frequently asked questions

You will receive a downloadable workbook (we will have option to order a printed version if you wish),  a generous list of partner discounts to use and an exclusive discount code to use for our other training events.

NB  – All courses incur a booking fee of 1.6% which will be added to the cart.
